This cute chinese elm trees are a great easy care bonsai to start with - they are semi-decidious so you may lose a few leaves over the winter but they will soon flush up again in the spring. A great gift for a perfectionist - bonsai trees should be kept in a bright cool spot out of direct sunlight and clipped regularly to maintain their elegant shape. We are expecting to have some more bonsai trees available again in September

How to Look After our Plants
Looking after your Bonsai Tree
These instructions are sent with the plant gift
These bonsai trees are a semi-deciduous variety – Chinese Elm.
Choose a bright cool spot for your tree out of direct sunlight if possible. A north, east or west facing windowsill is ideal away from any radiators or draughts.
To keep your bonsai looking neat, prune regularly with sharp seceteurs or bonsai scissors. You are aiming to take the very tips off to keep the growth bushy and neat. These robust bonsai trees are great for beginners and are fairly easy care for. In the winter months you may find a few leaves drops but they will soon be replaced with new growth in the spring.
Rapid leaf drop is however a sign of stress and should be addressed immediately. Over and underwatering and extremes of temperature can all lead to leaf drop in bonsai but if you are unsure please do feel free to give us a call and we will always do our best to help.
