This Lavender is an easy-going shrub which will add welcome colour and fragrance to a sunny spot on a sheltered patio or planted out in the garden.
Your lavender will do best outside in a sunny or part shaded spot in the garden or on a patio. You can either keep your plant in a pot or planted out in the ground.
If planting out, water your lavender regularly during its first summer until it is well established. Once settled, lavender plants are fairly drought tolerant and so shouldn’t need watering when in the ground unless there is a spell of particularly dry weather.
If keeping your plant in a pot however, it will need regular watering. Aim to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. You will find your lavender needs less watering in the winter.
Deadhead your lavender regularly to encourage more blooms and keep it looking tidy. After flowering cut the plant back hard to encourage regrowth next year and stop it getting leggy. With the right care lavender will continue to flower annually.
Problem Solving
If your plant starts to look sorry for itself and dies back in the centre during the growing season, this is normally due to a watering issue. When watering your plant, avoid watering into the middle clump of growth as this can cause your lavender to suffer.
