We know when it's a gift it's so important that your plant arrives on time and in tip top condition.

If you do have a query about a delivery then please do get in touch with us and we'll come back to you just as soon as we can.

How are you plants wrapped?

All our plants are carefully selected by hand, prepped, bagged, gift wrapped and boxed in environmentally friendly packaging to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition on the day.

Need more help choosing a delivery date or delivery method?

Once you have selected the plant you want to send and entered the delivery address you can then choose your delivery date or choose to accept the default delivery date displayed.

You can change the delivery date by clicking on the box displaying the date or clicking on the calendar and using your mouse to choose your preferred delivery date. If you are struggling with this please do let us know on 01825 721162.

We use the type of plant and date you have chosen and your delivery postcode to work out what options are available and we display the delivery method we think is the best option for you at the top of the list. So if you are unsure you can always just accept this default delivery option.

What to do if your delivery box is greyed out

If the delivery options box is greyed out and there isn't a delivery date that means we can’t send your particular selection of plants to that delivery address.

This usually happens when you are sending to a postcode with a restricted number of options (such as remote isles or Scottish highlands) and the plant is too big, or you are trying to send 2 or more items that need to go on different delivery services. For example plants over 62cm tall can't go via Royal Mail and our most fragile plants and planters can only be sent with Royal Mail. You could try choosing plants under 60cm tall so they will go on our Royal Mail Multibox service or sending one box at a time. See below for more details on the rules that apply to each service or please do give us a call in working hours on 01825 721162.

If you are sending to Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man please check that the delivery country on the delivery address is set to UNITED KINGDOM

Our delivery options

Remember the delivery options displayed depend on the size of the plants and the delivery postcode. Here are all the options explained in more detail.

DPD Local courier delivery

DPD Local: Courier Delivery will cost £6.00 and will normally be the default delivery service and will show at the top of the list. If you are sending as a gift for delivery on a weekday and the delivery date is important then we recommend you choose this service. This is a tracked overnight service which means your plants arrive either next day or on the day you specify and spend minimum time in transit. This weekday service costs £6 to England, Wales, and the south of Scotland. If you enter a mobile number against your payment details you will be updated by text with expected delivery times and a confirmation once it has arrived.

Royal Mail Tracked Service

Royal Mail: Royal Mail Tracked Service costs £6.00 and is a priority service, and as with the couriers you will get an update by text or email when your plant is on it's way and when it's been delivered. This will show as the default delivery for some of our more fragile items, like planters as Royal Mail tends to handle parcels with the most care. This is also the best option for rural addresses that might be hard to find or remote areas of the UK where courier services can be expensive.

This is a good reliable service and can be used for any UK postcode. In many areas a postman will have the local knowledge to know where to leave a parcel if no-one answers the door and you can also specify a safe place or neighbour to leave parcels with. It is also a good option for areas which would normally attract a courier surcharge (eg Isle of Wight, or remoter parts of Scotland) and for Saturday deliveries - Royal Mail Tracked Service is the same price for a Saturday as it is for a weekday! Please be aware that Royal Mail are not able to handle larger plants so this service will not be available for plants over 60cm tall.

Need a weekend delivery service?

Royal Mail Tracked Services are the cheapest choices for Saturday or for the remoter areas. However, please be aware that Royal Mail will not be offered as an option for larger plants (over 60cm tall), or for multiple boxes. For larger parcels on Saturdays or for Sunday deliveries our DPD Local Weekend courier service starts from £11.

Do tracked deliveries require a signature?

Our tracked deliveries do not require a signature and you can specify exactly where you would like the parcel left by typing over the default text underneath the delivery method.

There are some parts of the UK where the delivery can take longer, or cost more, or where some delivery services are not available. We use the postcode in 'where are you sending to' to define which area of the country the delivery will be made and from here our system works out what options are available. Unfortunately due to the introduction of new customs paperwork and phytosanitary certificates post-brexit we are no longer able to ship to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

Plants4Present Delivery advice

We want our plants to arrive in peak condition, which means spending minimum time in the box. We will always pack our plants fresh on the day of despatch and although we know from experience, that plants are happy in transit for 2 or 3 days, we do put restrictions on some services to ensure plants don't spend too long in a box. I.e. you can't normally book a plant delivery on Tuesday after a Bank Holiday as your plant would then be in the box for at least 4 days. If you are sending to remote areas or need any advice about which plants are delicate, and which are tough, then please do contact us.

Please don't choose an option which needs a signature, if you think there will be no one available to sign. It means the plant goes back to the depot for redelivery on the next working day.

Customer Service

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, the quickest way to contact us is via the telephone 01825 721162. Outside these hours, use our order query form on the Contact Us page.

In the unlikely event that your plant is late, damaged in transit or in poor condition on arrival, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can set things right for you.

Frequently Asked Delivery Questions

Where in the UK do you deliver to?

We deliver to all postcodes in mainland England, Wales and Scotland and to most English and Scottish Isles. If you live in the English and or Scottish Isles, please get in touch with us to confirm if we can deliver to you.

Do you send to the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?

Unfortunately due to the introduction of new customs paperwork and phytosanitary certificates post-brexit we are no longer able to ship to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland. We are absolutely gutted about this and we hope that in the future we can reintroduce this service.

Do you send to Europe or elsewhere Overseas?

Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver outside mainland UK at the moment. We are hoping to reintroduce a European delivery service in the future once common sense has returned to the way the customs paperwork now works.

What happens if they are not in?

If no one is home when a delivery is attempted, our delivery services will normally try to follow your delivery instructions as entered on the order form. If you do not amend the default delivery instructions to 'leave safe if out' then this authorises the delivery driver to leave safe on a doorstep or wherever they feel is appropriate. If they really don't feel that this is a good idea (ie. it's a main road or terraced block and they feel it wouldn't be safe they may return the box to the delivery depot for redelivery the following day). If it's not possible for the driver to follow the safe place instructions then a card will be left stating attempted delivery and you will also be notified by email (or by text if you have given us your mobile number). With both DPD and Royal Mail Tracked services if they are not able to deliver on the first day the parcel will automatically be routed for redelivery the following day. The tracking emails provided by DPD also give options to redeliver on a specific alternative day, to a neighbour or to the recipients nearest pick up shop. Please note that as plants are perishable items we strongly recommend that re-deliveries are arranged as soon as possible.

Can I get my gift delivered at the weekend?

Yes, choose your preferred delivery date including Saturdays and Sundays on the order form and your delivery options will automatically change. Please note that smaller items can be delivered on a Saturday for no extra cost using the default Royal Mail Tracked service. Saturday and Sunday services by courier start from £11.

Can I deliver to a Business Addresses?

Of course, do bear in mind though that plants sent to hospitals, military bases and business addresses will be delivered to a main reception or mailing room prior to internal distribution. We recommend that plants sent to these locations be requested for delivery on a weekday and not on a Saturday. In a big office it's usually best to ask for a signature.

When will my plant arrive?

We can normally deliver on the next working day if you place your order before 4pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can choose for your plant to arrive on a specific day Monday to Sunday using the calendar on the order form.

Is the delivery date guaranteed?

Over 99% of orders arrive on time and in the extremely unlikely event that you gave us the right address and your plant is late we will refund your delivery with our apologies. Please note that as we allow extra time for deliveries to Northern Scotland and UK Isles, occasionally plants can arrive earlier to these destinations but they should not arrive later. The only services where we cannot guarantee the delivery date are the Royal Mail: 24hr/1st class service and the Royal Mail: Economy Tracked Service and even then over 95% of these deliveries still arrive on time. Please note that it is your responsibility to provide us with the correct delivery address.

What time of day will my plant arrive?

Our delivery services deliver from 8am to 6pm (sometimes later at peak times) and your delivery will be made between these hours. We can't tell you the exact time your plant will arrive in advance but with our tracked courier services you will receive notification of a 1 hour delivery slot on the day of delivery. This will come by email and also by text if you give us your mobile number on the order form.

Are your plants gift-wrapped?

Pictures of the packaging can be found on the link "Plant Delivery" from the top menu. Plants are carefully wrapped by hand and protected with tissue and kraft paper and delivered in specially designed plant boxes to ensure they arrive in perfect condition on the day. The wrap and boxes mean your gift is protected from the worst of the elements, but they should be brought inside and unwrapped as soon as possible.

My gift was supposed to arrive today but I haven’t heard from the recipient – has it been delivered?

Please check your emails (including any clutter or junk mail folders) for delivery updates on the day of delivery. These (and text messages if you gave us your mobile number) will come through in real time and our couriers normally deliver up until 6pm. 99.8% of courier deliveries are delivered on time but if you are unsure or you can't access or find your email notification then please do give us a call on the number at the top of the page and we'll check for you.

I want to send two or more identical plants to the same address can I do that?

Yes, when selecting your plant amend the quantity of plants you would like underneath the pot and greeting card options. You can also amend the quantity on the order review section of the order form. For orders of more than 9 identical plants, call us on 01825 721162 and speak to Emily for a reduced rate.

I want to send two different plants to the same address can I do that?

Yes, simply go through to the order form once you have chosen the first plant and then use the 'continue shopping' button in the bottom right of the order form to browse for your next plant. The good news is that you will only pay one courier delivery charge for up to 10 plants to one address.

I want to send two different gifts to different addresses can I do that?

Yes you can, but because they have different address details and often messages they need to be entered as individual orders. We advise that you either log in to your account or create a new account before doing this. This is the only way to save your information from one order to the next. At the top of the order form or in the top right of the screen you can log in at any time. If you don't have an account it is very easy to follow this link and 'create a new account' with a simple password. Once you have placed the first order you will then have the opportunity to 'continue shopping' from the order confirmation page and your own details will be pre entered for you on the order form when you next come to it.
