Looking after your Daphne

This is a hardy semi-evergreen Daphne x Transatlantica (Daphne × collina 'Eternal Fragrance’) with small, very fragrant tubular flowers, they flower from Spring to late Summer often followed by colourful berries.

This Daphne likes a sunny or part shaded spot in the border or in a pot on the patio and prefers well drained soil.

Daphne are not thirsty plants but will appreciate being kept damp whilst they settle in after planting. Water regularly whilst in a pot once the top of the soil has dried. To keep them happy and flowering as long as possible add a few drops of ordinary house plant feed in their water every few watering’s.

This variety is semi-evergreen and will only grow up to 1 meter in height and width once full grown and best to keep the pruning to a minimum.

It is unlikely that you will get any pests or diseases, but if you do just wash the leaves and buds with soapy water

Please note that this plant is toxic if ingested, and contact with sap may cause skin irritation.
