Yes we're still open and we're pleased we can still operate and spread a bit of cheer throughout this latest lockdown.
As you'd expect we've already made quite considerable changes to our operations at the nursery to ensure our team and our customers are kept as safe as possible and that our premises are covid-secure.
We still have plenty of gorgeous plants at the nursery to choose from and you can still select next day delivery (before 2pm) or delivery on a day that suits you.
We've got a great team here in Sussex and our couriers and royal mail are working hard to ensure your plants continue to arrive on time with minimum social contact.
All our plants are carefully selected by hand, prepped, bagged, gift wrapped and boxed in environmentally friendly packaging to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition on the day.
On the order form you can choose to send either by DPD overnight Courier or by Royal Mail. Our tracked overnight courier service will normally be the default delivery service and will show at the top of the list at £6 extra costs may apply to Saturday and Sunday deliveries and for remote areas (see below).
All our plants are carefully gift wrapped by hand at the Nursery
Smaller plants will arrive in our specially designed 60cm plant box
Larger plants will be delivered in our larger 90cm or 1.1m plant box

Free Delivery on all orders over £50 if your order totals more than £50 (excluding delivery) then the standard delivery cost of £6 will automatically be deducted from the order summary on checkout.
Both our couriers DPD and the Royal Mail have a policy or prioritising perishable items and parcels so we're pleased to report that over 90% of our deliveries have been arriving on time even during lockdown.As both DPD and Royal Mail are still extremely busy during the current crisis we have made the decision to suspend our economy postal services for the time being.
If you are sending as a gift and the delivery date is important then we recommend you choose "DPD Local: Courier Delivery £6.00". This tracked overnight service means your plants arrive either next day or on the day you specify and spend minimum time in transit. This weekday service costs £6 to England, Wales, and the south of Scotland.
Need a weekend delivery? Royal Mail Tracked £6.95 is a better choice for Saturday or for the remoter areas. However, please be aware that Royal Mail will not be offered as an option for larger plants, or multiple boxes. For larger parcels on Saturdays or for Sunday deliveries our Weekend courier service starts from £11. Please note we are currently in the process of putting the new Post-Brexit paperwork in place for deliveries to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and we hope to resume these services again very soon.
Our tracked deliveries do not require a signature and drivers are now routinely leaving parcels on the doorstep rather than attempting to get a signature. Don't forget you can specify exactly where you would like the parcel left using the special instructions box under the delivery date.
In more detail
"DPD Local: Courier Delivery - £6.00" will normally be the default delivery service. Our Monday-Friday courier service covers the whole of the UK. This is a tracked service, and you are notified by email (and also text if you have entered your mobile number on the order form) when the gift is on its way, when it has a scheduled delivery slot (if available) and when your gift has arrived. DPD also offer up to the minute tracking and options to arrange redelivery or alternative delivery addresses through their app, putting you in complete control.
Royal Mail: Royal Mail Tracked Service - £6.95 is an excellent service (99% delivered on time) and does not need a signature. You will get tracked tracking details to you by email on the day your plant leaves the nursery and your parcel is tracked at every stage of the journey. You can also specify a safe place to leave your plants if you are not sure if someone will be home.
Please note, Royal Mail Services will not be offered as an option if the delivery includes a large box, as Royal Mail do not take boxes more than 62cm high but you can see the full range that can be sent royal mail here
If you need a Saturday or Sunday delivery date you need to set the date on the calendar and then you will be offered a choice of services that deliver at the weekend.
For the lighter and smaller plants you can choose a Royal Mail service (Tracked overnight at £6.95) for a Saturday at no extra charge (see the full range of plants available on this service here). The Saturday (and Sunday) courier services for larger plants start from £11.
Sending to more remote areas?
Royal Mail services are almost always the best option and the next day Tracked service will usually show as the default service. In remote areas where the delivery time is already extended you may be offered a cheaper Royal Mail 24 option too. This service is available for just £4.50 per delivery (or £6 for multiple boxes) but to avoid delays you might want to consider sending plants to remote area on the premium tracked service. We cannot be held responsible if you choose this service and your gift doesn't arrive on the expected day.Unfortunately due to restrictions on airfreight and ferry operators it is not possible to send our larger plants to more remote areas of the UK - sorry, you are probably best to choose a smaller plant and send by Royal Mail Tracked to these areas. Unfortunately we are still working on the new paperwork needed to allow post-brexit deliveries to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We hope to have these new processes in place in the next few weeks in time for Mother's Day and we'll update this page again as soon as we can.
