Thank you for coming and making our 2025 Open Day such a success!
We were absolutely delighted to welcome visitors to our first open day since 2017.
It takes a lot of effort to get our working nursery visitor ready, but it was so fantastic to meet some of our lovely customers face to face and to spend the day talking all things plants.
We had 79 people through the door in the end. Some travelling from as far afield as Oxford and Eastbourne and some simply walking up from Newick village, just down the road. It was a scorching hot day and it was so lovely to see visitors reactions to our plants and our little nursery where we toil away out of sight, sending our plant gifts week in, week out.

Raising money for Headway
All donations raised on the door went directly to local charity, Headway.

The final count of money raised on the door is not yet in, but we were delighted to help this local charity. Based literally up the road from us, Headway helps support those living with brain injuries and their families right across Sussex. It was great to welcome Ian and some of the team from Headway to the nursery too and we'll update this page with the final amount raised very soon.

Despite the heat, it was great to hear how much visitors enjoyed coming behind the scenes. Because we specialise in plant gifts we do often have 'seconds' that don't quite meet our quality control standards and it was fantastic to see so many of these imperfect plants being rescued and off to new homes.
The event was such a success we're already planning a repeat performance in 2026, so watch this space for a June and October date for 2026 coming soon.
