Announcing Our Brand New Mother's Day Greeting Cards

In an increasingly digital world, a personal message counts. That’s why we continue to hand write every single one of our greeting cards and why this year we’ve launched a very special new Mother’s Day card.

Handwritten by one of our skilled card writers, our beautiful, hand painted greeting cards are a vibrant and cheerful way to tell your mother just how much she means to you this Mother’s Day.

Creating our Gorgeous Mother’s Day Greeting Cards

Our super talented despatch manager, Ella, is the artist behind our Mother’s Day cards. She hand painted this year’s design in water colours and we’ve used this original painting to create our lovely new Mother’s Day cards on 100% recycled card with biodegradable inks.

Each card is larger than a standard greeting card and blank, ready for your special message to be handwritten by one of our skilled card writers.

Writing Your Mother’s Day Message

The message inside of your Mother’s Day greeting card is, perhaps, the most important part. It offers a heartfelt sentiment, allowing you to express your unique feelings and special memories with your mother in your own words.

We allow customers up to 400 characters to get their personal message across. From nicknames to in jokes and including your pets when signing off the card, we love to see our customers adding a personal touch to their messages.

For help crafting the perfect message, we’ve put together a range of fun facts and top tips to help you feel creatively inspired and to support you in communicating exactly how you feel this Mother’s Day.

Ways of Addressing Family Members

Is it granny or grandma? Aunty or auntie? Well, the answer will be different depending on who you ask!

Of a sample of our recent messages, we found that 60% of our messages to an aunt use the spelling auntie, followed by 35% using the spelling aunty. We also found that 60% of messages to a female grandparent were sent to granny and 40% were sent to grandma, whilst grandpa and grandad were split 50/50.

When it comes to writing your own message this Mother’s Day, we encourage you to address your mother in the way that feels most natural to you, whether that’s mum, mama, mammy, or perhaps a unique nickname from a precious childhood memory.

How to Sign Off the Card

When signing off a greeting card, there are plenty of variations to choose from that portray your love and care, including:

  • Love from;
  • Lots of love;
  • All my love;
  • Sending love.

You could even add a kiss or two to the end of your message; in fact, 64% of our messages have at least one kiss at the end, helping to complete the message with a warm and affectionate touch.

Don’t overthink this decision: each option is a lovely way to end your message and remind your mother you love her. When it comes to it, simply choose the one that feels most authentic to you.

Who Signs Off the Card?

Our pets are more than just our pets: they’re our best friends and make up a core part of our family units. Including dogs, cats, or other pets when signing off a greeting card is a lovely way to add an extra personal touch to your message.
