Open Days 2026

After the fantastic response to our 2025 Open Day, we're excited to announce that we’ll be opening the nursery twice in 2026!

  • Saturday 13th June 2026

  • Saturday 12th September 2026

What to expect

For practical and insurance reasons, our nursery site isn’t normally open to the general public. We’re frequently asked if visitors can come and see us and purchase plants in person, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming you on the following dates:

Upcoming Open Days: Saturday 13th June 2026 and Saturday 12th September 2026

We love showing people around our little piece of planty heaven and would be thrilled if you could join us.

Because we're a working nursery, you'll find us a bit rough and ready, but this is a great opportunity to come behind the scenes and buy from our fantastic range of plants. Our friendly and knowledgeable team will be on hand to help with any questions and to make your visit enjoyable.

We'll be sending round reminders and more details of the day via our customer newsletter so do please do sign up to our newsletter if you'd like to know more or drop us an email via our contact form. We'll also update this page with any changes nearer the time.

Lemons at the nursery

Shop our stunning range of citrus trees, flowering, fruiting, foliage and exotic plants in person. Choose your own plants to take home at a special Open Day price!

Timings on the day

We'll be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 13th June 2026 and Saturday 12th September 2026 as a one off. For those interested in the history of the site there will be information boards and plenty of team members available to help with questions and plant purchases

Entry Fee

We'll be asking for a voluntary donation of £5 per person on the gate (free for children) and all proceeds will go to local charities.

Our 2025 Open Day supported Headway Sussex, a fantastic local charity helping people living with brain injuries and their families across Sussex.

Refreshments

It can be hot under glass in the summer months, so we will have cold drinks and ice lollies for sale and there are basic toilet facilities on site. If you are looking for something more substantial, there are lots of excellent pubs and cafes in the local area.

Where to find us?

Plants4Presents
Fletching Glasshouses
Fletching Common
Newick
Lewes
BN8 4JJ

The address above works well for most sat navs and the nursery is clearly visible on google maps. We're tucked away on a back road between the village of Newick and the A275 about 20 minutes from the larger towns of Haywards Heath and Lewes. The entrance to the nursery is clearly marked and there will be marked parking spaces on the left hand side of the drive as you come down the dirt track towards the glasshouses.

Frequently asked questions?

Can I bring children?

Yes absolutely, we love seeing children getting involved with and learning about plants but as it is a working nursery with lots of trip hazards it is your responsibility to ensure your children are safe at all times.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately because we have working cats on site, we can't accommodate dogs (except guide dogs), even if they are really well behaved.

Is there plenty of parking available?

There is quite a bit of parking on site and this will be clearly marked on arrival. If when you arrive, all the parking spaces are full, there is extra overflow parking available down the road at lane end common. If you are coming from the local area we'd encourage you to walk or cycle if you can. There is a lovely footpath up from Newick green through the woods.

Can I get there by public transport?

We are tucked away in the rural Sussex countryside so it's not the easiest place to get to on Public transport unfortunately. The nearest train station is Haywards heath which runs regular services south to Brighton and north to London. Taxis and Ubers from the station are easy to find and it's approximately 15 minutes in a taxi straight to the nursery. Buses do also run from just outside the station to Newick green but it's an hourly service on a Saturday and you need to be prepared to walk the last mile and half from the bus stop.

Can you accommodate those with impaired mobility?

We will certainly do our best. The site is all on one level with only one step, however the ground is uneven in places and the drive is quite rough. If you are intending to visit as a wheel chair user or with a mobility scooter it would be best to call us in advance so we can talk you through the best place to park and any potential issues.

High winds or storms

We have chosen a summer date in the hope of fine weather but in the unlikely event that there are heavy winds or storms forecast we do reserve the right to cancel this event for safety reasons. It's simply not safe in our old greenhouses in high winds. If that is the case, we will endeavour to contact everybody by email so please do let us know you are intending to visit by sending us an email or joining our newsletter so we can stay in touch.
