Summer Basket
In stock
STOP PRESS These summer planters are now out of season but we do have some lovely autumn planters and other seasonal planters you might like instead.
This week's baskets are looking as fresh and lovely as always and have been newly planted up with a selection of seasonal flowering plants. The exact selection does vary a little from week to week but they'll always include a nice mixture of 5 or 6 hardy plants in bud and bloom. This week we are selecting from: lobelia, nemesia, bacopa, calibrachoa, dianthus, verbena, ranunculus, viola and decorative ivy. Please do make a note below if you have any particular colour preferences and we will do our best to follow this. More photos coming soon.Planter was packed with fresh healthy plants, vibrant colours! Very pleased.

Looking after your Summer basket
Your Summer basket is made up of mixture of spring plants that all like a cool spot outdoors. Choose a porch, doorstep or sheltered patio and your planter will bring colour to the darkest days.
Try to avoid strong direct sunlight which may scorch the young leaves and choose a spot that is shaded for part of the day. A north, west or east facing spot is ideal.
The amount you need to water, will depend upon where you keep it. During warm dry spells you will need to water several times a week, but during normal British weather conditions, you should be able to rely on rainfall. Try to keep the compost damp – not dry and not soggy. (Please be careful when watering your planter as the baskets are not completely water tight.)
It is a good idea to keep pinching out the spent flowers as they fade to encourage the young buds. Once all the flowering plants are over, the foliage plants will still continue to put on new growth and should grow to fill the basket over the summer months before the flowering plants make a return next spring.
Problem solving:
If the leaves or flowers start to droop, water thoroughly immediately and they should soon recover.
